Margaret Noble
You can sync records together, one after another, in a planned
order or you can fuse them together into a composition that runs
the turntables like musical instruments. Trained in flute and with
several dance scholarships under her belt, Margaret Noble moved
on to the art form of DJing to combine the best works of artists
and producers worldwide into one continuous, head-bumping musical
composition.
Her sound represents eclectic house and breaks with elements of
dub, funk, jazz and soul. Her aim is to control the groove to rise
and fall so that the listener is guided through contrasting sounds,
dynamic beats and rich melodies. Due her traditional training in
music, the harmonics of her mixes are always on point and because
of her ambitious style of mixing in early and for long periods of
time; she is able to keep the flow of her sets constantly engaging
for the listener.
Beyond her live DJ sets, Margaret Noble also plays in a fusion
band called Morpheus, which combines electronica and natural instrumentation.
Additionally, Margaret Noble does sound design work for the visual
arts in theatre, film and still art installations. She has regular
bookings in California and Chicago and has received press from Pitchadjust
magazine, Shejay Magazine and The Chicago Sun Times. Her mixes have
also been featured on Radio Maestral (Croatia), Housewerk (U.K.),
Proton Radio (N.Y.) and Mental Atmospheres (Canada). Catch her live
electronica show, The Chicago Bump, Tuesdays 4-6 pm Eastern time
on www.club246.com.
