lysa d Lysa D.

An Arizona native of Phoenix since 1987, but born in Clark AFB, Philippines, DJ Lysa D. was introduced to the club scene in the summer of 1996. Her first appearance & residency was at a sports bar, Butch O'Leary's (Mesa, AZ). Months later, she was approached and signed on with manager/promoter, Alex Lucca (Los Angeles), and began her own company, "shaymlesse productionz". She quickly developed an appreciative following and became well-known to the Phoenix scene and acquired residencies including: Club 602/the Underground, Mystique, Eclipse, the Cage, and Zazoo. Guest spots included: Tribeca, 411, and the Pyramid (Albuquerque, NM), just to name a few.

Lysa's music style of funky/dizco/uptempo/deep House has crowds groovin' on the dancefloor. She also includes some Breaks, Old Skool, funky Tech-house, and even HipHop, but her 'arsenal' of choice is HOUSE. She's performed for capacities ranging from 200 to 1000 plus and has received booking inquiries from Chicago, Peru, Kuala Lumpur, Japan, and Lithuania.

With the moniker, "Diva of Jamz", Lysa should also be titled as a "Renaissance Woman" as her close friends like to joke. Within the last year, DJ Lysa D. has turned from DJ to full-on "ENTERTAINER"! While not only offering the funkiest mix of music, she began producing original tracks, writes, and sings LIVE throughout her mix sets. Her recent performance in Phoenix, AZ (April 2002) at "It's Got To Be Funky" proved to be nothing short of AMAZING! Her soulful, funky voice can be compared to some of the great vocalists in the industry. Lysa also became interested in remixing, songwriting, and even promotions. She has been a national promoter / street rep for Astralwerks Records for over a year and is also a booking agent for some DJs nationwide (including: DJ Stat / Chicago, DJ Megatron / Los Angeles, DJ RKNY / New York).

Radio was another avenue that she was willing to partake and Lysa had the opportunity to write, produce and perfom various commercials on Power 92, KZZP, and 103.9 fm (AZ's Party Radio), where she was also a part-time producer for Kid Frost ("La Raza"). She was the FIRST female to spin LIVE on Q-104.7 fm (Ventura, CA) in '97 and since then, has performed at "The WOMB.com" (Miami, FL), and recently at KISS FM (101.9 - Las Vegas, NV). Currently employed by Sierra H Broadcasting, (owner of MEGA & ENERGY radio) as asst. producer, mix DJ, and promotions, Lysa was recently promoted to on-air personality (co-host) & producer for the NEW Morning Show on MEGA 104.3 / 99.3 fm (Phoenix, AZ) and will become the new evening personality onENERGY 92.7 / 101.1 FM. She also has a mix show on MEGA (Super Sunday Old School Mix) and will soon have a mix show on ENERGY ("Groove Sessionz" Sundays - TBA). Lysa is also featured on an internet radio show in NY (Shoutcast).

Lysa has had the opportunity of headlining & performing with the likes of Rick Garcia, Bobby D., Alex Peace, Artie the One Man Party, Robert Armani, Larry Linx, and even her greatest influence, Bad Boy Bill. She's also collaborated with other great DJs/producers nationwide, such as DJ Ernan of Housekilla Records (Sacramento / Las Vegas) where they plan to release, "Gettin' Feelingz" (Summer/Fall 2002) She's also chosen to do some crossover work with HipHop / R&B and plans the release of her R&B ballad, "...So Soon" featuring Big Feenix for the Fall 2002.

Lysa and current agent, Serena Calo of Newlite Muzik, Inc. (NY), look forward to a promising future in music. With the overwhelming response of her first mix CD, "miXellaneous" (March 2000), fans awaited her 2nd compilation CD titled, "DizcoFunkD'licious" (May 2001), and are anxious for her latest mix masterpiece, "Musically Divalicious" (release Fall 2002). Her original tracks featured on her first album titled, "muZically" is set for release for Fall 2002 and include: "Cuz It'z In U" (vocal), "If U Do..." (vocal), "AM Groove", "211 In Progress", and "Gettin' Feelingz".

Lysa says, "I'm just thankful that I've been blessed with the opportunities and talent I've been given and I'm just happy to be doing what I love!" Her goals include working with some of the biggest names in music, looking forward to Djing in Ibiza, and plans to keep the world groovin' with her music!
